There is little doubt that one of the stand out driver in this year’s Australian Rally Championship was Will Orders, teamed with Toni Feaver, driving the Motorsport Parts / Administr8 Subaru Impreza WRX.

With a string of top five finishes, along with many top three stage times, the team demonstrated that it can run at the front of the pack in Australian Championship rallying.

How Will Orders stacks up against some of the best drivers in the world will be tested this weekend as he will compete in the last Telstra Rally Australia to be held in Perth, Western Australia.  After his win in class P5 in the Australian Rally Championship and almost taking out the BP Ultimate Challenge, Orders and the team are ready to take on the tricky ball bearing roads in Perth and to showcase his obvious talent to the WRC teams.

“We are going to Perth to show what we can do,” Orders said as the car was loaded onto the trailer for the long haul to Western Australia. “Chris Atkinson has shown the way for Aussies overseas in the WRC and I hope that the WRC guys see what other local drivers can do. We will certainly be trying our hardest to get the best possible result,” Orders said.

“With extra help from our sponsors we have been able to run our championship car and we have a new ace up our sleeve – Pirelli tyres. We have run all year on other tyres, but for this rally we are pleased to be supported by Pirelli.

“We will have access to the tyres we need to run as fast as we can. We were certainly hampered in the ARC by the 12 tyre rule and we hope to be able to really take advantage of Pirelli’s support and deliver a top result.”

The Motorsports Parts / Administr8 Subaru only required minor work after the last round in Melbourne as so few competitive kilometres were travelled in Heat 2.   The team will run the car in class A8 as a Group A car and on BP Ultimate pump fuel.

Strong competition is expected in the Group A class from local Tolley Challis and Spencer Lowndes, a former works driver for Mitsubishi Ralliart.
