Seventeen-year-old British driver, Tom Cave, will set a world record next week when he becomes the youngest driver to compete in a World Rally Championship event.
Cave passed his driving test this week, and will drive a Group N Ford Fiesta ST on Wales Rally GB.
The youngster already competes in Latvia, but needed a British licence in order to be able to drive between stages in the Wales Rally GB on ordinary roads.
He already had the international licence, which allowed him to compete in the event.
"I'm delighted to pass my test today," Cave said on his website. "It was the last hurdle to get over before I could take the start of Wales Rally GB and it's a huge relief to have it out of the way.
"Now I can concentrate on the rally and my preparations for the most important motorsport event of my life."
