Argentinian rally driver, Juan Pablo Raies has been hit with a 15,000 Euro fine and a four minute penalty before the Swedish Rally even got underway.
The Munchi's Ford World Rally Team was found speeding 29 times during the pre-event recce. He was caught 21 times in one stage (SS12 Vargasen) breaking the 80kp/h speed limit.
"The levy of a fine only would not be deemed appropriate looking into the number of times the speed limit has been exceeded,” the FIA said.
It is Raies’ first visit to the Swedish Rally, and his first drive for the Munchi’s Ford team.
