Rallye de France-Alsace, which starts on 3 October in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), is to be broadcast live worldwide in more than 100 countries, including Australia.

Australia's Speed TV will be one of 18 TV partners who will broadcast Rallye de France live from 3rd till 6th October in over 100 countries.

This is set to be the most comprehensive TV coverage from the current WRC season. The live offer covers several of the event’s 20 stages. This includes the final stage, which is a 5.7 km long Super Special Stage through Haguenau, the birthplace of nine-time WRC champion Sebastien Loeb.

Oliver Ciesla, Managing Director of WRC Promoter GmbH: “The positive feedback from our TV partners and fans after the live broadcast of the Rally Finland in August and the large interest in the broadcast of the Rallye de France affirms our plan to provide regular live coverage of the WRC in the future. Plans are currently being made for the live broadcast of at least eight rallies in 2014.“

Central to the Rallye de France, the third to last race of this WRC season, is the encounter between the French frontrunner for the world championship, Sébastien Ogier (VW Polo R), and his fellow countryman and WRC legend, Sebastien Loeb (Citroen DS3). Sébastien Ogier needs only one more point to secure his first world championship title. Rallye de France will be the final WRC event of Sebastien Loeb’s illustrious career and the opportunity for him to bid farewell to his home fans.
