The purpose built Subaru WRX turbo four wheel drive rally car piloted by Sydney's Molly Taylor, the world's highest ranked female rally driver, is to take centre stage at the annual conference for the design, printing, signage and display industry in Sydney next week. The Visual Impact Trade Show Is being held at the new International Convention Centre, Darling Harbour, on October 11-13. Molly is the reigning Australian Rally Champion and the nation’s first ever female national champion. It is the first time a motor sport vehicle has been seen at this show and it is the main feature of the Re-Engineering Australia Foundation display. REA is a privately owned not for profit organisation (started by rally driver Michael Myers) encouraging teenagers to pursue technical careers. It’s F1 in Schools competition has already seen students progress into motor sport engineering roles and now it is also pointing youngsters towards the myriad of job opportunities in the graphics, print and signage sector. The multi-coloured Subaru is covered in eye-catching graphics and provides a prime example of what can be achieved by the print and signage industry in order to showcase team sponsors. Subaru, the factory rally team and Molly Taylor are assisting REA in this venture.
