Prior to our awareness of this new category a friend and I had been discussing the issue that Super 2000 seeks to settle.

The idea of the class is very appealing, however, it really only addresses one of the problems with the Group N Turbo 4wd. The sound is more exciting, the turbo is gone, but what about the 4wd? 4wd = bore wheel drive for most spectators.

It also allows less skilled drivers to survive more easily. A return to RWD would really sort the men from the boys. RWD takes superior skill and nerves of steel. And with 30 years of engineering and chassis progress since it was last used, you have to think that the cars would be superior in handling to the Escorts and Celicas of the past.

Just my thoughts, but I know I am not alone... and I race a 2.5l RWD on dirt, so I know the consequences... and the added enjoyment,
