The celebratory dinner features many invited guests, including Queensland Premier, Campbell Newman, who is the club’s Patron, and CAMS President Andrew Papadopoulos.
The year, CAMS also celebrates its 60th anniversary - sharing an important milestone with the club.
Regular anniversary celebrations have become the norm for the BSCC, with 10 years flying by since the last, impressive fifty year dinner.
The 2013 event will take a reflective look back at the last 10 years, an interesting period in both motorsport and the world economy.
During that period, the club has maintained its unbroken record of presenting high-quality rally and off-road events and excelled by promoting and running the International Rally of Queensland, a round of the Asia Pacific Rally Championship.
As one of Australia’s most successful rally and off-road clubs, many members have celebrated success and achieved greatness over the years and it is hoped that a number of those members will be present to join in the festivities.
The club is well-known as the longest-serving host of an Australian Rally Championship event in the current arena, and likely guests also include the current IROQ Event Director Errol Bailey, along with former Clerks-of-Course and Rally Directors including Garry Connelly and Jim Reddiex, who made the Lutwyche Shopping Village Rally their own in the mid-late 70’s.
The dinner will be held at ‘The Glen Hotel’ at Eight Mile Plains, in a beautifully decorated function room.
Tickets are $65.00 per head, and available by contacting Margaret Mackay at the Club on on 3267 7647 (mobile 0412 553 186), or by e-mail at bscc@ozemail.com.au.
A specially-labelled commemorative wine is also on offer at $20 per bottle for red or white, and this can be ordered in advance or purchased on the night of the dinner.
