45-year old Italian co-driver, Giovanni Bernacchini, has been appointed Sporting Director of Abarth Racing.
He will be responsible for managing extensive networks of one make championships, as well as overseeing participation of Abarth 124 cars in the FIA R-GT Cup.
As a co-driver he achieved countless victories in the WRC support championships, including being champion co-driver with Simone Tempestini in WRC3, and four times FIA co-driver champion in the Middle East Rally Championship, alongside Nasser Al Attiyah.
His father, Arnaldo, was an official co-driver with Fiat, winning the WRC Rally of Portugal in 1974, alongside Rafaelle Pinto, in a Fiat Abarth 124.
