The Victorian Government has thrown its support behind The Courier Eureka Rally in 2018 thanks to the State Government’s Significant Sporting Events Program. Thanks to the program, which helps sporting, community and event organisations to deliver significant sporting events in Victoria, $10,000 will be provided to help ensure the event continues to be a success and an event Victorians can be proud of. The Member for Wendouree Sharon Knight said the event was a great asset to the region.
“The Eureka Rally means so much to local fans and reaps enormous benefits for Ballarat – that’s why we’re proud to support this fantastic event,” Knight said.
“We encourage everyone to come along and enjoy what promises to be another action-packed sports spectacle.” The Member for Buninyong Geoff Howard said he expected an exciting weekend for all involved in the event. “Competitors and fans can look forward to exciting racing and a great atmosphere with something for everyone,” Howard said. “Events like these attract new visitors to our region and that means more jobs and a stronger local economy.”

CAMS CEO Eugene Arocca said the funding was a significant boost for the Championship’s first event of 2018.
“With The Courier Eureka Rally just a few days away, preparations are in full swing for what will be a truly great season opener to the CAMS Australian Rally Championship,” Arocca said.
“The Victorian Government’s support of this growing event highlights its growing significance on the motor sport calendar. Thousands of fans will flock to Ballarat this weekend, as well as many locals, to witness Australia’s best rally drivers get their season underway in the Ballarat region. “We are extremely grateful to Minister John Eren and the Victorian Government for their significant support.” The Courier Eureka Rally begins on 3 March, with more information about the event, including spectator guides, available at rally.com.au.
