The popularity of the New South Wales rally series, AMSAG, continues to grow as many competitors choose to align themselves to the long-running series, now in its 25th year. The 2018 Pipe King Southern Cross Rally Series has retained the six round format which proved successful last season. With two events each to the west, south and north of Sydney, AMSAG hopes to build on its reputation of providing value-for-money grassroots rallying. The Pipe King Southern Cross Rally Series begins on the NSW Mid North Coast with the running of the Blacksmiths Inn Rally from Johns River on March 17, before heading to the NSW Riverina for the Rosewood Rally in April. AMSAG rally series dates The iconic Bega Valley Rally on the June long weekend has been retained, with Bulahdelah, Orange and Oberon rallies filling out the back end of the season. In line with the relaxed nature of the series, there is no registration fee, and all competitors are eligible to score points. The introduction of a three round Junior Series for drivers under the age of 30, and a revamp of the Lady Drivers championship, forms part of a multi-year development plan by the club. Additionally, increased media exposure will combine with a ‘yet to be launched’ promotion to ensure that AMSAG rallying in NSW continues to build on its solid foundation.
