The battle lines have been drawn for the winner-takes-all 2018 ARC2 final in the CAMS Australian Rally Championship (ARC). After strong competition that has spanned five rounds and five states, Steve Glenney, Glen Raymond, Brad Markovic, Adam Kaplan and Haowen Chu are eligible to go head-to-head over three days at Kennards Hire Rally Australia to determine the 2018 ARC2 winner. Should any of this year’s finalists not take their place on the Coffs Coast, the next highest point scorer will be eligible. Tasmanian Steve Glenney finished on top of the table with 83 points, closely followed by Victorian Raymond on 80 points and West Australian Markovic on 76 points. New South Welshmen Kaplan and Chu, on 72 and 56 points respectively, grabbed the remaining two spots, a great effort by both drivers who are piloting two-wheel-drives in the 2018 ARC.

The 2018 ARC2 finalists will receive free entry to Kennards Hire Rally Australia and a set of MRF Tyres to battle for the ARC2 title. The slate will be wiped clean in terms of points, with drivers starting from an even playing field for the final. ARC2 was introduced in 2017 to help rally drivers transition from state to national competition. In 2018, the registration fee for ARC2 was scrapped and and competitors eligible for ARC2 were automatically nominated for their home round, where they received points towards the ARC2 series. Drivers nominated their second ‘out of state’ round prior to their selected event. ARC2 Top Ten – after round five 1. Steve Glenney 83 points 2. Glen Raymond 80 points 3. Brad Markovic 76 points 4. Adam Kaplan 72 points 5. Haowen Chu 56 points 6. Ben Hayes 47 points 7. Andrew Penny 44 points 8. Zayne Admiraal 42 points 9. Mark Butcher 38 points 10. Jamie Pohlner 36 points
