The Australian Rally Commission, under new chairman Ed Ordynski, has made a positive and enthusiastic start to the year, having already conducted two meetings.

In previous years, ARCom has only met twice a year, but Ordynski has already met with the newly formed Commission (see separate story) twice.

ARCom spent a day together on January 19th, discussing the new operational procedures for ARCom, and then a tele-conference between Commissioners took place last night.

“Last night’s meeting went for around two hours and was very productive,” Ordynski told RallySport Magazine today. “Our plan is to meet via teleconference once a month for business items so that we can provide a rapid response to those items.”

ARCom will publish those dates for the teleconferences for all of 2007 in its minutes, to be released this week.
Ordynski has also conducted a tele-conference with all state rally panel chairmen across Australia – the first time this has ever happened.

“We are also scheduling the state panel teleconferences monthly, happening between the ARCom meetings, to facilitate strong consultation with the elected administration of rallying,” noted Ordynski.

Ordynski also wished to highlight the personal support he has received in his new role from continuing ARCom members, Col Trinder, Ben Rainsford, Lin Gigney and Peter MacNeall.

“The new role has highlighted my inexperience in many areas and these guys have provided great back-up for a novice Chairman,” he added.
