Subaru Rally Team USA had a successful weekend with all three WRX STI Rallycross cars. Aussie Chris Atkinson posted mid-pack times all weekend and finished the semi-final in third place, advancing directly to the final.

Chris Atkinson gets airborne in the rallycross event in Atlantic City, USA last weekend.Sverre Isachsen and Bucky Lasek advanced after finishing second and third respectively in the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ).

However, it was not without some urgent repairs that Isachsen's #11 WRX STI was ready for the final. As he crossed the finish line during the LCQ his turbo failed. With less than 30 minutes before the final it was a frantic pit stop to swap out red-hot engine parts and confirm the #11 WRX STI was once again ready to hit the track. With seconds to spare Isachsen pulled onto the start line ready for action.

All 12 cars in the final had a clean start and the race was going well, unfortunately both Chris Atkinson and Bucky Lasek suffered punctures in the rough dirt section.

Although running several laps with damaged tyres, both teams decided to pull off in order to save the car from unnecessary damage.

Next up on the Red Bull Global Rallycross Series is Round 10 in Seattle, Washington on September 16-17.
