The entry list for November's biennial Alpine Rally features no less than two former Australian Rally Champions, and four ARC event winners. Of the 121 entries received to date, former national champions Nathan Quinn (Mazda RX2) and Dinta Officer (Mitsubishi Galant) head the list. ARC events winners, and some of Australia's fastest drivers, including Brendan Reeves (Datsun 1600), Ryan Smart (Datsun Stanza) and Wayne Hoy (Datsun 260Z) are also among the likely starters. 2017's Alpine Rally winner, Ben Barker, returns in his BMW, as does 2015 winner Jack Monkhouse and his Datsun 180B SSS.

Escorts are well represented with Luke Sytema, Tom Dermody, Stewart Reid and Grant Walker, while Reeves' brother, Nathan, will drive a Nissan Gazelle, as will Classic Outback Trial winner Andrew Travis. The three-day Alpine Rally will be again based out of Lakes Entrance in Victoria's Gippsland region, on the last weekend in November. One of the exciting changes to the 2019 rally will be the “Koni Super Special Stage” to be held at Bairnsdale Speedway on the Friday night, as the final stage of the opening day.
