The continued WRC calendar delay was explained to RallySport Mag's Martin Holmes in Bostalsee, Germany. A representative from WRC Promoter said that the latest schedule for the long overdue announcement of the WRC calendar for 2020 was now another “one to two weeks”. Earlier there had been assurances the calendar would be announced “before the start of Rally Deutschland”. He denied suggestions that the extraordinary hold-up delay was due to disagreements between the Promoter and the FIA, emphasizing that any rescheduling of the announcement (originally ordered by the World Motor Sport Council to arrive in June) was always agreed between the Promoter and the FIA in advance. Meanwhile, organisers are suffering increasing difficulties due to the delays, not the least because they are bound by confidentiality stipulations as to the status of the negotiations, or even the effect of any individual contracts with the Promoters made by the organisers.
