With many favourites such as ‘Mineshaft’ and the very fast ‘Millpost Lane’ in the event this year, the team will have to use local knowledge to try and beat the fast 4WDs.
The first stage on the Friday night will also benefit the team, as they are used to running at night, unlike the regular ARC competitors who don’t often compete in the dark.
The Charade has undergone an extreme makeover over the last four weeks with many added safety additions and quite a bit of tuning. With the team competing in the rest of the ARC, including the Great Lakes Rally and Rally of Melbourne, they felt they needed to bring the car up to a higher level of preparation.
Andrew Buerckner will be co-driving for Baker this year. Andrew has quite a bit of local knowledge at state and club level events. He also has some international experience with the NZ Peugeot team of Nick Marshall.
“Our service team has had a new inclusion with Shane Tanner from the Wodonga TAFE Motorsport Program returning to Canberra to aid the team in preparation,” Baker said. “Wodonga TAFE Motorsport Program will also be supplying more members for the rest of the Baker Motorsport ARC program.”
The team is supported by local businesses Solartec Electrical, Bold Hair, and NSW Bearing Supplies.
