Craig Breen says he and co-driver Paul Nagle are fully focussed on the job at hand for their Hyundai Motorsport debut at Rally Finland next month.

Speaking to RacerViews’ Sam Tickell, Breen also explained how the negotiation process was done relatively quickly.

“In the last two or three weeks everything happened,” he told RacerViews before the Ypres Rally.

“I hope that Paul and I can do a good job, I think that we can – I have the experience there.

“Paul has won the rally, I have been on the podium and I hope it will be a good weekend.”

Breen finished on the podium in 2016 at the Jyvaskyla based event, and has had a strong 2019 so far, winning all bar one event he’s competed in an R5 car.

It’s the consistency that Hyundai will be hoping for in his debut for the team.

“For sure they are pushing for the manufacturers championship. For this moment they want the maximum points for Finland. Paul and I are there for that job and from there we will see.”

It will test the 29 year old more than his 2019 outings to date, where he has just aimed for fun in keeping match fit.

“I did the Irish Championship – it was nice. I did it for fun.

“For me the best rallies you can find are in Ireland. I would drive there all my life if I could.

“I really enjoyed it, the Italian Championship also kept us busy and kept us sharp,” Breen concluded.
