Reports from Europe overnight that Rally Australia is moving to the Gold Coast are false, and without "an iota" of truth, according to an event spokesperson.
The World Rally Championship calendar is due to be released later this week, with Rally Australia expected to be calendared for the second half of next season.
A bid by New Zealand to run a round of the WRC in 2020 appears to have dissipated, with the Kiwis believed to have fallen short on financial grounds.
"We've put in a proposal to run the event in Coffs Harbour, and we're waiting for feedback from the WRC," the spokesperson told RallySport Magazine today.

The push to have the WRC back in New Zealand in 2020 gathered momentum in April, but since then things have gone quiet.
It was suggested at the time that NZ would host the WRC in 2020, allowing Australia to find another location to run Rally Australia in 2021, but that appears unlikely to happen.
Rally Australia is set for November this year, as the final round of the 2019 WRC.
