Past regular ARC competitor, Adrian Bukmanis, now working for Prodrive in the UK, will be coming home for a brief holiday at the end of March and is hoping to dust off his old Subaru Legacy to have a run at coates Rally Queensland.

Bukky has not had a regular competitive drive for some time, but his last outing in the Subaru at Rally Queensland some years ago, showed that he had the speed and commitment to shame many other higher-spec cars.

Adrian first came to the attention of the Australian rallying public in a tiny Honda Civic, and travelled the ARC circuit to bring home many giant-killing performances and class awards.
The move into a possible outright contender was hampered with his move to England where he has a dream job – and the Subaru has remained in cold-storage here in Australia ever since.

His old service crew is reportedly working on the Legacy to ready it in time for the event, and Adrian will be joined by good mate and past co-driver, John Ahern. John is married and living in Sydney but will be coming home to reform the old team.

Fortunately for Bukmanis, the trip back to Queensland coincides with a couple of work requirements. One is to stop off in China on the way south, where he will catch up with Anthony McLoughlin (competing in the Chinese Rally Championship), and on the way home from Oz, Bukky will visit the first round in Indonesia in Palembang.

Bukky admits that the effort at coates Rally Queensland is not intended to set the ARC world on fire – just to enjoy the event and the old car, and catch up with a few friendly faces.

It will be a great to have him back!
