Twenty-eight entries will make up the CAMS Australian Rally Championship’s fifth round in the picturesque Adelaide Hills. Toyota Gazoo Racing’s Harry Bates and John McCarthy will be looking to continue their perfect run in 2019, first on the road and leading the Championship having not put a foot wrong in the four events to date. Behind Bates, Subaru do Motorsport’s Molly Taylor and Malcolm Read will be eager to atone for a disappointing outing at Pedders Eureka Rush, following an incident with a tree stump that forced them to miss parts of the Victorian event. Taylor and Read will be followed on the road by Lewis Bates and Anthony McLoughlin in their Toyota Yaris AP4. Click here to see the full entry list. A number of competitors will also take on both the ARC and the CAMS MRF Tyres South Australian Rally Championship (SARC), cross-entered into both Championships, including last year’s overall third place finishers Application Service Provider’s Zayne Admiraal and Matthew Heywood. Also competing in both ARC and SARC is Calder Wealth Management’s Ben Calder and Steve Glenney, the duo making their successful debut as a pair in the ARC at Ballart. Calder has confirmed he will also compete at Kennards Hire Rally Australia this year, with a view to competing in the entire ARC in 2020. Another notable return to the ARC comes in the form of Muscle Car Performance Mufflers’ Stephen Mee and Rhys Llewellyn in their Toyota Corolla. Mee makes his first appearance at an ARC event since winning the ARC2 2WD Final at Rally Australia in 2017. A further 15 entries across the SARC, South Australian Clubman Series and Adelaide Hills Introductory Rally bringing the total to 43 entrants taking on the fast South Australian stages. The Adelaide Hills Rally will cover 214 competitive kilometres over 20 stages, including the unique Super Special Stage at The Bend Motorsport Park, where competitors race two-by-two on the impressive Stadium Circuit.
