Canberra’s Brindabella Motor Sports Club will not host a round of the Asia-Pacific Rally Championship in 2018 after significant financial losses associated with this year’s event.
Clerk of Course, Adrian Dudok, told RallySport Magazine that it is a risk the club aren’t prepared to take.
“The event lost a substantial amount this year, so the club are not prepared to risk another APRC round,” he said.
“We will continue with an ARC, however.
“There may be a late reprieve for an APRC round if funds are forthcoming, but at this stage that looks unlikely,” Dudok said.
The National Capital Rally was awarded APRC status just two months before the event ran in May, after the cancellation of the Rally of Queensland.
