The son of 1990 and 1992 World Rally Champion, Carlos Sainz, has been chosen as a driver for the Torro Rosso team in next year’s Formula 1 World Championship.
Carlos Sainz Jnr will drive for the Torro Rosso Formula 1 team.Carlos Sainz Junior has chosen the circuit racing career path, rather than the rally path of his father, and it has already paid dividends.
Sainz Jnr is the current Formula Renault 3.5 champion, and will race alongside Max Verstappen at Torro Rosso next year - the team which Daniel Ricciardo drove for in 2013.
"Ever since I have been part of Red Bull's young driver programme, this has been my aim and I want to thank Red Bull for putting their faith in me," Sainz said.
