A variety of significant changes to the running of Britain’s round of the FIA World Rally Championship, the Wales Rally GB (round 12, 4-6 October), have been confirmed.
Gone is the supporting title sponsor DayInsure, and rally headquarters and service park moves 70km westwards from Deeside to Llandudno.
The Thursday ceremonial start will be held 100km eastwards from Llandudno in England, in Liverpool, from where the rally will proceed, still in England, to a spectator stage at Oulton Park.
On the Friday evening there will be a nigh time stage at Aberhirnant.
The Power Stage will revert to the earlier lakeside venue at Brenig and the finish will be in Llandudno.
The event will otherwise maintain its traditional format of gravel forest stages, using a limited number of sections of closed public roads, which help make longer stages possible in certain areas.
