Citroen Racing boss Yves Matton moves to FIA
The 50-year old Belgian, Yves Matton, is to take on the work of FIA Rally Director on February 7, leaving Citroen Racing where he has been Team Principal since the start of 2012.
He replaces Jarmo Mahonen and will be responsible for a strategic vision of rallying and cross countrying at all levels, in charge of management of associated FIA championships and sporting Commissions.
He has been a regular rally competitor on the Condroz Rally based at his home town of Huy at the wheel of World Rally Cars.
After his earlier work as Logistics Manager with Citroen Sport, he became active in private rally team operations, forming his own company, MY Racing, and acting as Team Manager with Kronos Racing.
He then returned to Citroen Racing where he also assumed work in the World Touring Car Championship.
His new position comes at a time when there is considerable confusion at the FIA in issues of vision for the future of rallying.
His position at Citroen Racing will be taken over by Pierre Budar.
