Young Canberra driver, Adrian Coppin, is looking forward to getting behind the wheel of the factory supported Citroen DS3 R3T in this year’s Australian Rally Championship.

After driving a Ford Fiesta in last year’s series, Coppin has been named as one of the two factory Citroen drivers, together with NSW veteran, Tony Sullens.

“We’ll be competing in the full 2014 championship as part of the new factory supported Team Citroen Australia,” Coppin said.

“I will be driving a brand new Citroen DS3 R3T, running in the R3 category.”

Coppin had the chance to drive a similar car in last year’s Rally Croatia, a round of the European Rally Championship, and while that experience will be vital, he says this year is all about learning.

“The goal for the year is to learn the car and get the best possible results we can for Citroen and our other sponsors, Fibertech Medical and Total.

“I also have the opportunity to compete in some European events this year, but like anything, need to find the funds to make it possible.”

Team Citroen Australia’s debut into the Australian Rally Championship will be in March’s National Capital Rally in Canberra.
