Rally Australia has boosted the organising team for its 2017 FIA World Rally Championship event with the appointment of Adrian Coppin as Sporting and Business Development Manager.

Adrian CoppinCoppin’s role will include sponsorship sales and support and liaison with prospective competitors. He also will assist Clerk of Course Wayne Kenny on sporting matters and liaison with the motorsport governing authority CAMS.

Kennards Hire Rally Australia on the New South Wales Coffs Coast on 16-19 November will again be the closing event of the 13-round season.

Kenny said Coppin’s appointment would strengthen Rally Australia as it continued to grow in scale and stature in its 25th year as a world championship rally.

“Adrian Coppin brings to Rally Australia considerable experience as a competitor at national and international level. His knowledge of how to successfully fund and manage a rally team, his hands-on perspective as a driver and extensive contacts in the sport will be valuable assets to Rally Australia,” Kenny said.

“Rally Australia is a highlight of the motorsport year and one of only two FIA world championships in this country, alongside the Formula 1 grand prix. This appointment is an important step in our commitment to drive the event to even greater success.”
