The FSPORT FIESTA ST Rally Team is starting to feel the pressure of getting their car to round 10 of the FIA World Rally Championship at Coffs Harbour in early September

The car arrived in Sydney by ship on Sunday, August 14 but unexpected delays with Customs and AQIS clearances will see the car ready for collection this afternoon.

For driver, Adrian Coppin the last week has been one of the most frustrating times of his short career.

“I should have had the car in Canberra on Wednesday but it was delayed.  Then we couldn’t get any clear advice on when it would clear,” Coppin said.  “It wasn’t until 5 o’clock Friday evening that we were told it should clear Monday afternoon,” Coppin added.

And to add to the pressure, the car will participate in the 2012 Bosch ARC launch at Calder Park on August 30.

“Kumho Tyres Motorsports is an official supplier to the Bosch ARC, so I need to have the car there, resplendent it in its new Kumho themed livery,” team owner John Mills said. “The ARC is very important to Kumho Tyres and the media opportunities the launch presents are too good to pass up,” he added.

“There is a lot to do and not much time, so we’ll be under the pump,” chief mechanic, Michael Barrett from Total Traction Services said.  “But I think we’ll be burning the midnight oil”.

If everything comes together, the team is hoping to test next weekend in Canberra, followed by a further test with the Production World Rally Championship (PWRC) teams on the Monday before Rally Australia.
