Multiple Australian Rally Championship winning co-driver, Coral Taylor, bought a rally car while down in Tasmania for last weekend's round of the ARC.
The car was the Celica GT-Four once driven at a great rate of knots by her late father, Norm Fritter.
"I was feeling sentimental (and we had room in the truck), so I bought a rally car!" she said on Facebook.
"My dad’s old Celica ST 185 was for sale in Tasmania. Not in good running order by any stretch of the imagination, but I have some great mates who might know a thing or two about restoring old Toyota rally cars.
"So Neal and I retrieved the car on Monday and loaded it (and lots of parts) into the truck.
"I give my long suffering husband a lot of grief about the ‘barn finds’ that seem to regularly make their way to our place, and now I’ve added to the collection.😳
"But we’re keen to restore Dad’s car and take it out for some rallying. He would love that. I think maybe some of dad’s old co-drivers need to do a rally in it again, and that includes Mark, and also my brother-in-law, Steve Hollowood. 🙂"
