Three-time Asia-Pacific Rally Champion, Cody Crocker, will return to the series again in 2009, hoping to set the record for the highest number of APRC titles.

The Victorian will once again drive a MotorImage Subaru Impreza WRX, with Queenslander, Ben Atkinson, co-driving.

In even bigger news, Crocker is hoping to contest at least two rounds of the Production World Rally Championship in 2009, with the possibility of contesting the entire PWRC in 2010.

“I’m hopeful of contesting both Rally Australia and the Rally of Portugal next year, with the plan to enter the full PWRC the following year,” Crocker told www.rallysportmag.com.au

With some potential overseas sponsors, Crocker’s plans are a good chance of becoming a reality, something the three-time Australian Rally Champion has been working on for some time.

“To contest two PWRC rounds in 2009 would be a great stepping stone to hopefully doing the whole series in 2010.

“While nothing has been put on paper yet, the plans are definitely exciting.”

Crocker continues to have a close involvement with Subaru Australia, and this week took journalists for hot laps around Winton Motor Raceway at the official launch on the 2009 Impreza WRX.

Unfortunately he doesn’t look like returning to the Australian Rally Championship any time soon, unless the right deal was put to him.
