Dave Darby and Peter Roberts, driving a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 6, took a 21 second victory in the Myall Stages Rally held last weekend.
A round of the NSW Rally Championship, the Myall Stages was held in dry, dusty and windy conditions. It was the crew's first pacenoted rally, and starting car 2 on the road behind young gun and last year's winner Nathan Quinn, they jumped out of the blocks early
In the first stage, at 17.35km, they took over a second a kilometre off the rest of the field to set up a lead that they maintained for the remainder of the rally. A small transport mistake cost the team 10 seconds in road penalties, but the crew had enough speed to charge home for victory.
