Young Toowoomba driver, Nathaniel Dillon, with navigator, Greg Bankin, have taken out Round 3 of the Silverstone Tyres Queensland Gemini Series.

The round was run in conjunction with round two of the KCF Short-Course Rally Series, conducted by the Brisbane Sporting Car Club in the Jimna State Forest.

Seven series cars competed out of a field of 33 cars, and Dillon and Bankin in their Beaurepaires-supported TX Gemini came out on top by just 40 seconds over the 51 competitive kilometers. They also finished 13th outright.

Kent Lawrence and Chris Nunn were second after an event-long battle in the Plantec-backed TE Gemini. Dillon’s younger brother, Tim, with dad Adrian calling the corners, finished third another 37 seconds behind.

This year is turning out to be one of the most closely contested Gemini series’ for many years and all competitors are eagerly awaiting Round 4, to be held in September.
