DustTrails, Episode 2: Quinny and his Mini

Quinny and his Mini. That was the catchy tagline for Aussie rally fans at Rally Australia in 2013 when Nathan Quinn drove a Mini Cooper World Rally Car.

It was the first time since Chris Atkinson in 2006 that a local driver had mixed it with the world’s best at our home round of the World Rally Championship, and the Coffs Harbour local didn’t disappoint.

While he wasn’t in a works team, or at the level that Atko was seven years earlier, the fanfare and experience is one that Quinn will remember forever.

Peter Whitten chats to Nathan Quinn about how the drive came about, how he prepared for the ‘drive of a lifetime’, and whether his performance and his result met his expectations.
