Hayden Paddon's electric rally car project took a huge step forward yesterday with the arrival of the Hyundai Kona's power plant.
"An exciting package arrived today - the heart of the Hyundai NZ EV Kona rally car," Paddon reported.
"This is the test battery that will be used for the initial test program, but (it) is exciting to have all the pieces of the puzzle in place.
"Several more hours ahead for the team to get the car ready for testing. Big thanks to our technical partners STARD who have helped us with the supply of this and support of our project."
The Hyundai Kona electric rally car is expected to make its competition debut early in 2021.
