Mixing the thrill of competition with the fun of open-road driving, the 2010 Figjam Rally guarantees a full weekend of four-wheeled thrills for any motoring enthusiast.
Brought to you by Mountain Motorsports, the national authority in navigational road events, the Figjam Rally follows the success of the recent San Remo Rally. It offers crews the chance to enjoy their ‘toys’ in numerous autotests, and will also test their skills using road-based point-to-point navigation sections.
Based in Bendigo on the weekend of September 18 & 19, the rally consists of approximately 20 driving tests and 3 navigation sections - around 500kms in total.
On Day 1 competitors will enjoy navigating to the DECA driver training facility in Shepparton for lunch, followed by an afternoon of autotests using both the back circuit and skidpan. The event then moves to ‘Cellar 47’ for dinner before crews head back to Bendigo via a night nav for a few social drinks.
On Sunday a navigation section will get competitors to lunch where more autotests await. A final short liason follows to the official trophy presentation.
You don’t need to have navigated or driven on tracks before, and a roll-caged rally car is not required.
Just $750.00 allows both driver and navigator entry into the event, and it includes all meals (except breakfasts), maps, route instructions, event insurance and trophies.
For those wanting an even more relaxed weekend the Touring Section might be for you. You’ll be given a ‘suggested route’ that will have some great driving roads, and you still get to compete in all the autotests.
An Australian Auto Sport Alliance (AASA) club licence is all that’s required for both driver and navigator, and they can be purchased for $50 on arrival.
What a great opportunity for first-timers to come away for a fun weekend, and mingle with like-minded people, while ‘having a crack’ in a safe environment.
We would really love to see everyone who has competed in our events in the past get together and catch up.
Just bring your sense of adventure and be ready for lots of fun, as socialising is a large component of our events.
