The 2008 British Historic Rally Championship got off to a magnificent start on the Robin Hood Historic Forest Stages over the weekend.

A 90-car field, big crowds, two former World Champions and a tie for victory made it a memorable event. Ultimately, it took a tie-break to confirm Richard Hill/Patrick Cooper (Escort) as winners over Martin McCormack/Liam Moynihan.

Former World Champion, Bjorn Waldegard, drove a Lancia Stratos, while another Swedish World Champion, Stig Blomqvist, was at the wheel of a Ford Escort.
