Elfyn Evans has continued his strong WRC form into shakedown at Rally Mexico, leading his nearest rival by just over half a second.
The Welshman, who leads the championship in tandem with Thierry Neuville, won the shakedown test on his fourth and final run of the Llano Grande test.
Neuville was second while six-time champion, Sebastien Ogier, was third despite his strong opinions about the event's running.
“I don’t know if I need to answer about how I feel in the car, I feel not so good,” Ogier said.
“This situation [with the coronavirus] is difficult and it’s hard for me to switch off my brain about it.
“To be honest it’s a bit strange at the moment, it’s strange to be here and it’s strange to race. The whole world is, at the moment, in a critical situation and it’s a bit strange to race.”
Ott Tanak and Kalle Rovanpera rounded out the top five.
It was a difficult stage for M-Sport, with their three World Rally Cars completing the leaderboard in seventh, eighth and ninth.
Oliver Solberg was the best of the rest - three tenths ahead of Pontus Tidemand.
