Australian-based Irishman, Richie Dalton, has fired up his Ford Escort in which he will compete in next month’s Otago Rally.
The car, which has been in a long build process has been brought to life before it gets shipped over to New Zealand.
In full white trim, the car will be a sight to see on the flowing Dunedin roads.
An added bonus for Dalton is the addition of launch control.
"A special mention to Will Orders who decided to put launch control into a 42-year-old Ford Escort," Dalton said on Facebook.
"A baptism of fire is an understatement, but (I) cannot think of a better place to drive it than Otago.
"The roads, the people, the atmosphere, the culture, the organisation - and of course the after-party," he added.
