Legendary co-driver, Fabrizia Pons, is recovering with serious injuries after a testing accident with Alberto Battistolli in a Skoda Fabia R5. The former WRC winning co-driver, alongside French woman Michele Mouton, suffered a broken collarbone and broken ankle in the accident, which happened in the Veneto region of Italy. "Thank you very much to everyone who asked me for news," Pons said on her Facebook page. "I will have surgery on Monday both my collarbone and ankle, both during the same surgery. And I'll be up soon!! Races are about to start again and I'll be there. Thank you." It has been reported that the compression of the HANS device fractured her collarbone. Battistolli has lost control of the car on a long straight, with a dip in the road before the braking zone. Battistolli suffered only minor injuries, but was also kept overnight in hospital.
