The original Mille Pistes event was already very well known, its memory in the sport further cemented when Citroen named their budget level four wheel drive version of the Visa after the event.
The event then gained further legendary fame as the FIA adopted the event’s time-saving recce schedule as a basis for saving costs for teams – and the chance to squeeze another event into the WRC calendar.
Sebastien Loeb has announced that he hopes to compete on the event.
