Australian lighting specialist, Narva, has joined forces with the Ford/Pirtek rally team of Michael Guest and Darren Windus  to supply Narva lighting for their new S2000 Fiestas.

The sponsorship deal, announced recently, will see the Fiestas fitted with new High Intensity Discharge (HID) lighting which will be used in events where night stages or stages in late afternoon light are contested.

Producing 100 Lumens of light output per Watt compared to halogen lighting which typically provides just 25 Lumens per Watt, the new Narva HID lights will provide a much greater light length and spread as well as eliminating any greater load on the cars’ electrical system.

A major advantage of the HID system is the absence of any filament in the light capsule, eliminating the effects of vibration and shock and providing increased operational life and reliability.

Narva’s Marketing Manager, George Davies, in announcing the sponsorship, said although Narva had supported various motorsport events in the off-road area, this was a major step for their company in sponsorship commitment of one of Australia’s top competitors.

“We look forward to developing a strong relationship with the team, the Ford Motor Company and the other companies supporting the team,” he said.
