The North Eastern Car Club are holding another of their popular Touring Assemblies on Saturday, October 21.

This event, the 2006 FOREST FROLIC, will cover around 145km of good quality sealed and unsealed roads in the North East of Victoria, over a route that is ideally suited to all vehicles, so you can use the family hack or your full-blown rally car. Road conditions range from bitumen to unsealed shire roads, forest roads and tracks, but definitely no grotties.

Basic map reading and plotting will make it easy for beginner or novice crews (or experts, for that matter) to compete without getting lost on the night. All maps will be supplied by the organizers, and while there will still be a few tricks to unsettle navigators, the navigation will be quite straightforward.

The entry fee is just $40 per crew if received prior to Friday, October 13, or $50 if received up to the start, and just one crew member needs to have a Level 2NS licence and be a member of a CAMS car club.

The  2006 Forest Frolic will commence from Tarrawingee, just 11km east of Wangaratta at 6pm on Saturday, October 21, finishing at the same location at around 10pm where plenty of food and drink will be available. Book-in will be from 5pm.

If you’re looking for a fun night driving and navigating your way around the north east forests, you should think seriously about entering now.
