The organisation will also use the opportunity to stage a number of community events in towns and cities along the route of the Trial to raise awareness of Frontier Services.
The Red Centre to Gold Coast Rally is made up of competitive sections on closed public roads or on private farm tracks and will finish on Queensland’s Gold Coast on September 20. Around 100 crews from all states of Australia will compete, and with less than a month before the start, competitors are busy preparing their vehicles.
According to Frontier Services National Development Manager, David Sullivan, the event is an ideal “fit”.
“It covers a lot of territory where John Flynn (of Flynn of the Inland fame) worked and where Frontier Services is still working. In fact the theme of our promotional events will be ‘in the footsteps of Flynn’,” he said.
Frontier Services logos will appear on all rally vehicles and in event advertising. Among the promotional events that Frontier Services are organising include school walkathons, community breakfasts, and a community camp oven dinner in Longreach.
However, according to David Sullivan, the undoubted highlights will be the staging of big country music concerts in Alice Springs and Townsville which will feature Troy Cassar-Daly, The Songbirds and Sara Storer.
“This will be an entirely new direction for Frontier Services, but one which we think has great potential for raising awareness and donations towards our work,” Sullivan said.
