The Full-On Rallysport team returned to Queensland from Rally Victoria on a high, despite having their lowest finish for the season in Heat 2.

This may appear unusual, but the pace the team found and demonstrated in the Fullerton Financial Services Evo 9 has buoyed the whole team.

“We moved into a much faster set of stage times during Rally Victoria,” said driver and team principal Bruce Fullerton. “The change of car to the Evo 9 is starting to pay off, and it’s allowing us to be much more competitive.”

In the short Heat 1, the team finished 8th ARC registered crew from the 32 starters, having particularly good runs through the brand new Ada River stage.  For Heat 2, the team set stage times well inside the top 10, but it was when pushing the limits a little too far that some time was lost.

A couple of overshoots and a spin cost precious seconds, but when the car was beached on the first run through Bennies, 12 minutes were lost, dropping the team to a distant last in Heat 2.

With no damage to the car, a strong run through the afternoon stages was on the cards, and with 6th fastest on the second run through Bennies, the team climbed back to 13th ARC registered crew.

“This has given us confidence going into 2012,” said Bruce. “The car felt really good and we felt confident with the extra pace.”

In the final ARC Championship points scores, Bruce Fullerton finished in 14th having contested only 3 rounds, missing IROQ when away on business. In the co-drivers championship, Hugh Reardon-Smith scored extra points when co-driving for John Goasdoue in Queensland, and finished 6th – one of five Queensland co-drivers in the top seven in the championship.

The team would like to thank their service crew of Rob Reddiex and Richard Harris for their support through the season, and Fullerton Financial Services for their sponsorship.
