Opel are advanced in their preparation for the 2020/21 German rally scene when their one make series will use electric powered Corsas. The power output from the new car is virtually the same as in the current internal combustion power cars, but with 260 Nm of torque, this is much more than currently available. Centre of gravity is low on account of the underfloor mounted battery, and weight distribution is said to be good. Around 20 cars are expected to be built, with 15 delivered to customers in summer 2020 in time for the first event in July. The 350 kW energy store capacity is expected to give a range of 335km.
