After their recent victory in the GK Denny Tyres Coffs Coast Rally, Manning Valley crew Dave Darby and Shane Griffis have announced that they have received extra funding, enabling them to contest the NSW round of the Australian Rally Championship, the Great Lakes Rally.
After purchasing the ex Boaden/Stilling Lancer Evo 6 only three weeks ago, the crew set about preparing the car to contest the Coffs Coast Rally.
With only around 40km of seat time in the new car before the event, the pair had their sights on a solid top five finish.
“After we won the event our sponsors were so pleased that they instigated the move from the State component of the event to the ARC section,” Darby said.
"We have no real expectations going into the event, we are just over the moon to have the opportunity to be able to contest a round of the Australian Rally Championship. To finish will be a reward in itself."
The team are also supported by Geoffrey Stewart Constructions, Total Automotive Centre Taree, Hastings Concrete, Penrite Oils, Cleavers Tyres Taree & Wingahm.
