The draft itinerary for the Australian Rally Championship’s newest event, the Great Lakes Rally, has been completed, and offers competitors over 220km of competitive stages.

To be held on September 15 and 16 this year, the event will be based in the Forster region and has received major support from the Great Lakes City Council.

The first day of the event will be based in the Bulahdelah State Forest using roads made famous by the Southern Cross Rally, including Wang Wauk, Cooloongolook and Possum Pie. Another favourite among competitors will be Manning Hill Road with its 5km of ‘S’ bends.

The second day of the event will be run in the Dingo Tops area. The planning team have driven over 4000km selecting the best roads possible for the event.

Part of the planning process has been to set the course for the upcoming Southern Cross Classic Rally on June 22.

The event headquarters will be at the Forster Surf Club, with the service park adjacent to the beach.
