Former Subaru factory driver, Dean Herridge, has ruled out competing in next year's Bosch Australian Rally Championship in the new SUV class - at this stage.

Herridge's Maximum Motorsport team today announced plans to contest next month's Australasian Safari in a brand new Subaru Forester, with his father, Rob, driving.

A two-time Australian Rally Champion, Rob Herridge will be partnered by co-driver Tim Batten.

However, the younger Herridge says at this stage there are no ARC plans on the table.

"I would love to come back and compete in the ARC in some capacity and I’m always looking at opportunities to do that, however at this stage the Forester is only being built with the Australasian Safari in mind," Dean said today.

Details of the new SUV class in the 2012 Bosch ARC will be unveiled at next week's season launch.
