Uncertain times for the organisers of Hokkaido Rally (14-16 September, fourth round in the FIA Asia Pacific regional championship) following huge earthquake damage and casualties in the northern Japanese island where the event is held.Â
Attempts are continuing to enable the event to go ahead as scheduled, with custom clearance proceeding for foreign competitors.Â
Top seeded entry is championship leader Yuya Sumiyama, who can clinch the title on this event in his Cusco Racing Fabia.

His teammate Mike Young and Fabio Frisiero’s Peugeot 208 AP4 are also entered. Â
Nine Japanese drivers have registered in the APRC for this occasion. Nearly fifty drivers have also entered for the concurrent national championship event.
