Hyundai Australia are eager to do more rallying in the future, with both tarmac and gravel events on their radar. The company successfully entered Targa Tasmania this year, with Brendan Reeves performing admirably in the team's N-Performance i30. Hyundai's Philip Rodgers said that there were already plans for future events. "The Targa campaign was very successful for Hyundai and we'll almost certainly be doing that again next year. "We will also continue our involvement with the tarmac rallysprint series in Sydney, which gets underway again in October." Hyundai will also have a large involvement with the factory squad at Rally Australia in November, including a special drive day at the Raleigh Raceway in the lead up to the event. Rally fans won't see the local operation competing, however. "We'd love to see Brendo competing there in an R5 car, but unfortunately I can't see that happening this year," Rodgers added. "The i20 is not sold in Australia, which makes it difficult for the company to invest in promoting that model here. "We'd love to be involved, but our hands are tied to some extent." Tasmanians Marcus and Scott Walkem will enter Rally Australia in their privately imported Hyundai i20 R5.
