Indian star, Gaurav Gill, is finalising a deal to contest three rounds of the World Rally Championship between now and the end of the year. Together with Australian co-driver Glenn Macneall, Gill will drive a Ford Fiesta R5 supported by Indian tyre manufacturer JK Tyres. The deal is 95% completed, and will see the pair enter the three remaining gravel rounds of the WRC – Rally Turkey, Wales Rally GB and Rally Australia. They will contest the WRC2 category in the three events, however, the car will run on Michelin tyres as per the championship regulations. Speculation that Ford India are involved in the program has not been confirmed, although an image on social media this week showed a livery design that included Ford's 'Powered by EcoBoost' logo. Gill and Macneall contested a limited program of WRC events last year, using MRF tyres on their M-Sport prepared Ford Fiesta R5.
